Food Integrity Now – E23- Project Gulf Impact – The Gulf is Not Safe

Besides “specially trained” human sniffers, what tests are being conducted to determine the safety of seafood from the Gulf? Are the tests adequate to make any such determination, or are they intentionally limited in favor of economic recovery? Is this worth the long term health risks? Heather Rally and Gavin Garrison of Project Gulf Impact answer these questions and more. Project Gulf Impact began investigating the Gulf Oil Spill in July 2010 to create a documentary that sheds light on the media black out which has surrounded this disaster. What they discovered motivated them to collaborate with locals and scientists to design and implement independent testing protocols, provide accurate information to the public, and advocate for transparency and responsibility from government agencies. In this episode Heather and Gavin describe why this environmental calamity is far from over.
