Did you know that the Department of Defense has given the U.S. Navy permission to cover 70% of our oceans with their sonar system? What does this mean for the whales, dolphins and other cetaceans? Lyndia and Lance Leonard have taken this issue on to assist our friends of the sea. Through the military’s use of sonar, noise pollution and the pollution of our oceans, whales, dolphins and other sea creatures are being harmed to point of losing their ability to hear–which in essence means death for these magnificent creatures. The Leonard’s have created three on-line petitions to stop the injuring and killing of these creatures and their humanitarian mission and message is one of urgency. The U.S. Navy is seeking permission to kill, permanently injure, or otherwise seriously harm whales and dolphins more than 31 million times over the next five years throughout Southern California, Hawaii, the Gulf of Mexico, and along the Atlantic Coast, using sonar and other equipment. By law the Fisheries Service has to let the public comment on its preliminary decision. We have until March 11, 2013 to sign this petition (CLICK HERE) and to stop this madness! It has never been more important then right now for all of us to act by signing the petition!
