Be On A Date With Your Food
In this episode we exchange experiences and ideas regarding not only what we eat but how we eat. What would it be like to be on a date with your food?
There are a lot of “rules” in the world about what to eat and how to eat in order to bring the most nourishment into our bodies. At the same time, if these rules don’t work for us, trying to follow them brings about feeling guilt, angst, and all too often feelings of unworthiness. This only aggravates our efforts to thrive and enjoy life.
Imagining being on a date conjures up delight, relaxed, presence with a particular individual that I want to spend time with. I’ve checked any ill-feelings and worries at the door. I’m not in any hurry to get the date over. And, I savor every moment, not wanting the evening to end. How fun is that? And, just perhaps your digestion will be better too.
The company we keep while eating may include family or friends. But what about if you live alone? Find what works for you doing a meal, perhaps it is watching you favorite Netflix series, or a YouTuber who brings you joy and delight. Being calm and present has so many benefits and we have found that it assists us to thrive!
Listen to what works for you. You are the boss of you. You know when what you are eating or how you are eating isn’t in your best interest. We have no doubt you are doing the best you can. Change things up as you are inspired to do so. That’s how thriving comes into our lives—one inspiring moment at a time!
