Dr. Helen Caldicott: Radiation and Fukushima, What They Aren’t Telling You
Dr. Helen Caldicott has devoted the past 40 years on educating the global community about the inherent risks and danger of nuclear energy and weapons. She is a physician, speaker, educator and the author of several books regarding nuclear energy. Dr. Caldicott shared with us what is happening at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant and explained how the meltdown of the 3 reactors affected the atmosphere, the ocean and our food supply. She shared some of the reasons why the Japanese government is not fully disclosing this disaster’s effects on human health. Dr. Caldicott is concerned about Building 4 at Fukushima and the catastrophic implications that would follow if this building were to melt down.
Dr. Caldicott talked about the number of diseases that are caused from radiation exposure. She explained how children are 10-20 times more sensitive to radiation, how girls are twice as sensitive as boys, and that fetuses are 1000 times more sensitive to radiation. She walked us through the process of how radiation in our food chain is passed from mother to fetus and how through mitosis of cells can turn into cancer. She reported on the number of diseases that can occur from radiation exposure including, cancer, diabetes, leukemia, hypothyroidism, thyroid cancer, to name a few.
Dr. Caldicott created a symposium in New York early this year in March where she invited some of the leading experts in the world to discuss these issues. You can download this symposium from her website. She invited major news sources, including CNN, ABC and others to attend and cover this conference. Unfortunately, only a few of the minor news sources covered the symposium.
In the last 25 years, there have been a million deaths due to the Chernobyl incident and the Fukushima melt down was 2-3 times stronger than Chernobyl. Her message is one of dire urgency for humanity to demand that the numerous nuclear power plants around the world be closed down before there is a world-wide disaster of which there will be grave implications.

What if any effect is this radiation having on the stuff to the west of what you show in the picture? It’s made out to be fine if you are on the west of it all. What about the other end of the island?
And General Electric will compensate these people for their mess, and clean up their mess.???
It is nice to see Helen back on the road. She was a force to contend with years ago, but it seemed she faded away. I hope she finds a way to deepen her impact.

I am concerned about the impact on children of radioactivity from the Fukushima nuclear power plant even I living in Tokyo. Intensity of radiation around Fukushima is not a ratio of Tokyo. The staff and the Japanese government does not think any evacuation of children from the Fukushima area. Japanese government to proceed with the decontamination of radioactivity impossible. the Japanese government has remark resident and to manage exposure yourself to pass from dosimeter to residents when the decontamination was found impossible. Japanese political party other than the Greens, say like “to the decontamination thorough” and saying the “reconstruction and restoration of Fukushima”. It does not say that trying to escape so as not to be exposed.
Japanese Government and japanese political parties except the Greens and mass media does not say that “Attempt to escape from radiation exposure to children”. And around Fukushima is like under martial law. It does not let residents of Fukushima around to say “trying to escape”.
What is the level of radiation in exported foods and supplements from non-Fukushima areas of Japan… such as chlorella, matcha tea, soy? Are Japanese sources of these foods safe?

I am so happy to see Dr. Caldicott featured on your website. I started the Fukushima Fallout Awareness Network in the U.S. in response to the the largest nuclear and industrial catastrophe in US history. I wrote an essay that was featured on Dr. Caldicott’s website Nuclear Free Planet. The essay was turned into a book which is now in it’s second edition printing, “Silence Deafening, Fukushima Fallout..A Mother’s Response”. The Fukushima Fallout Awareness Network formed in the spring of 2011 and has filed a Citizen Petition legal document with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. We discovered the the U.S. now has the highest allowable levels of radioactive Cesium in the world and Japan is allowed to export to us at this level even though their own legal levels are 12 times lower than the U.S. Please comment today at http://www.FFAN.us. Once you understand the horrendous scale of this series of NPP meltdowns, it becomes evident why the international community has chosen to ignore this catastrophe.
Basically, the breadbasket of the Western hemisphere has been contaminated for tens-of-thousands of years with radioactive contaminants. The cumulative effects of ingesting such radionuclides will eventually result in the premature deaths of millions of people.
Truth is, from day one at Fukushima, there was nothing that could be done and telling people that their food supply was now contaminated by radioactive fallout would have created global panic. All-in-all, humanity would’ve spiral into an accelerated dark-age.
It’s now an intelligence test for those who have the faculties to accept hard truth. Every effort must be made by the enlightened individual to protect their genetic integrity. All the while, such personal effort must be balanced with quiet support of efforts to move the human species off-world.

I came across a post, unfortunately I don’t know where, it was a late night surfing session. The Russians have found varieties of hemp that neutralize radiation. They said there are over 238 varieties of Hemp and they are now breeding them to neutralized specific types of radiaion around chernoybl. (sp?) I have heard nothing about this anywhere else. This is an exciting discovery! I’m searching for the site now and will update you when I find it. I am hoping to find an email address, phone number or physical address to ask them for more information and where I can get seed.
