Jim Gerritsen, President of OSGATA sues Monsanto – E62
Jim Gerritsen is an organic farmer and the President of the Organic Seed Growers and Trade Association (OSGATA). The OSGATA created a stir in food and farming communities when, with legal backing from the Public Patent Foundation, it filed a lawsuit in March against the chemical and biotechnology giant Monsanto. OSGATA has since been joined in the lawsuit by 82 other seed businesses, trade organizations and family farmers, which together represent more than 300,000 people. Jim’s message and commitment to removing genetically engineered food from our planet has resulted in this precedent-setting case against the biotech giant, Monsanto. This lawsuit challenges the validity of the patent on GMO seeds issued to Monsanto and other biotech companies.

HERO!!!! THis is the real war right here at home.
Maria, I agree. Food is being used as a weapon!
Thank you for standing up for us to the biotechnology industry. GMO’s are like a hostile takeover of our soil and land. If consumers knew what they were eating, they would choose not to eat genetically modified food, but , of course we have no labeling, and our regulatory agencies are working against the people, not for them. Seed is a sacred birthright, not a commodity for profit.
Occupy Monsanto and the dirty Politicians that licensed the biotech sore that deeply hurt American Farmers!
I am sure that you are working with Percy Schmeiser from Canada that filed suit against monsanto corp. several years ago and won the Right Livlihood award for his work. If not, then look him up on the internet.
