Pink goo on it’s way to a fast-food joint near you
No, that’s not strawberry ice cream you’re looking at. The pink goo in this picture is on it’s way to getting breaded to become delicious chicken nuggets and patties.

Basically, the entire chicken is smashed and pressed through a sieve—bones, eyes, guts, and all. it comes out looking like this.
There’s more: because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color.
We did a show a while back on the advent of using ammonia in beef processing. The crafty engineers at Beef Products Inc. devised a process that would allow meat once relegated as dog food to be eaten by humans. Who knew that ammonia was just as good for cleaning your floors as it is for cleaning your meat?
Mmmm…. tasty.
