Rachel Parent – The Force Behind Kids Right To Know
Not many 12 year olds have chosen the path that Rachel Parent has chosen. Rachel is the Founder of Kids Right to Know, a not-for-profit organization that she founded to inform the public, especially children, about food safety. Starting at the age of 12, Rachel began researching for a school project and a became alarmed by what she learned about GMOs. She started spreading her message far and wide.
At age 14, Rachel was given an opportunity to debate Kevin O’Leary, who hosts the Lang & O’Leary Exchange on CBC in Canada. Her debate with O’Leary is on youtube and has been viewed over 4.2 Million times. Rachel’s debate with O’Leary established herself as not only a powerful debater but a strong public spokesperson. She has given a TEdx talk at TedX Toronto and has spoken at many local and national events sharing her message about GMOs. Rachel has traveled to other countries with her activism, including India, where she had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Vandana Shiva and Tara Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi’s granddaughter. She has also traveled to Australia, Kenya and Argentina where she shares her message of diversity and protecting the earth.
Just last November, Rachel was granted an audience with the Canadian Health Minister, Rona Ambrose, and was encouraged by that meeting. She is now waiting for a meeting with Health Canada where she can further her message about labeling GMOs.
Rachel shared her passion for the earth, as well as her plans to continue the education and enroll other teens to do the same. This kind of passion is infectious and unstoppable!

….. most excellent!
I would like to know of a non profit organization in Ontario who fights against Pesticides, Herbicides, Dyes, Chemicals, GMO’s etc.
I would like to make a donation at my daughter’s wedding in lieu of favors, but I need a name that covers everyone, and the guests may not feel that they wouldn’t be involved with KidsNeedtoKnow name. They would think that it is an organization that only involves Kids!
My mother and my daughter’s fiance’s grandfather both died of Cancer and they were going to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society. I know that this money would only go to the Pharmaceudicals who have NO desire to find a cure for any disease. I would be very upset if any funds from my daughter’s wedding ended up with the Pharmaceudicals. We don’t need more Drugs – We need CURES!
Funding the root cause of Cancer is the ONLY correct thing to do, and I believe that the contamination of our foods, water, air etc. is causing the huge rise in Cancer.
I would really appreciate an answer.
Thank-you,
Antoinette
Antoinette, Thank you for your email! Food Integrity Now is based in the USA. I do not know of any organizations in Canada, other than Kids Right to Know. I agree with you about the Cancer Societys–they really do not want a cure, there is too much money to be made by the pharmacuetical companies. Food Integrity Now is heard all over the world, including Canada. We are not a true-non profit, but we are not for profit either. We are mostly funded by donations to do this education. I am not trying to convince you of anything, just letting you know what we do. I am sure you can do a search on Google and find some organizations in Canada–if that is what you would like to do. As you know, just be sure to see what and who they represent! I am sure you can find a worthy group. Thanks again for listening! Be well.
