What is Making Our Kids Sick? A Panel Discussion
The National Heirloom Expo took place in Santa Rosa, California last week. I had the the honor of moderating a panel at this event with the esteemed, Dr. Don Huber a scientist, Zen Honeycutt of Moms Across America, and Dr. Michelle Perro, a pediatrician from Marin County. The title of our talk was: What is Making Our Kids Sick. We were able to video the talk and are bringing it to all of you! It offers great information on what the problems are and what we can do about it to protect our health and the health of our children.
Here are the bios on the panel experts:
Dr. Don Huber. Dr. Huber is an award-winning, internationally recognized scientist and professor emeritus of plant pathology at Purdue University for 50 years – five decades. His agriculture research is focused on the epidemiology and control of soil-borne plant pathogens. Dr Huber has been studying plants for over 60 years. He has received various awards for his scientific accomplishments and contributions to government. Dr. Huber is also a father, a grandfather and has had a 41-year military career and is now a retired Colonel, having evaluated natural and manmade biological threats, including germ warfare and disease outbreaks and worked on committees that are part of the USDA National Plant Disease Recovery System under Homeland Security. Quite honestly, his bio reads like that of one of our country’s greatest heroes. I know that Dr. Huber is really concerned about the health of our children, grandchildren and generations to come because of the use of all the toxic chemicals on our food and environment.
Zen Honeycutt Zen is the Founding Executive Director of Moms Across America, a non-profit National Coalition of Unstoppable Moms. Zen has been featured on major mainstream news stations and documentaries. She is an international speaker, and author of “Unstoppable” Transforming Sickness and Struggle into Triumph, Empowerment and a Celebration of Community.
Dr. Michelle Perro. Dr. Perro is a veteran pediatrician with over thirty-five years of experience in acute and integrative medicine. More than ten years ago, Dr. Perro transformed her clinical practice to include pesticide and health advocacy. She has both directed and worked as attending physician from New York’s Metropolitan Hospital to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. Dr. Perro has managed her own integrative urgent care clinic, Down to Earth Pediatrics. She is currently lecturing and consulting as well as working with Gordon Medical Associates, an integrative health center in Northern California, as well as traveling and doing numerous speaking engagements on a book that she co-authored with Dr. Vincanne Adams, “What’s Making our Children Sick”.

Great panel discussion. I hope it was attended. Our urgent care and family medicine works to prioritize nutrition, while minimizing the use of potentially unnecessary antibiotic use.
