Breaking News: OSGATA v. Monsanto Case Filed With Supreme Court

A few hours ago, Food Integrity Now spoke with Jim Gerritsen, President of the Organic Seed Growers and Trade Association (“OSGATA”). Jim Gerritsen, representing the lead plaintiff, OSGATA,  spoke with us about this ground-breaking case filed with the Supreme Court today. The Plaintiffs, 73 American organic and conventional family farmers, seed businesses and public advocacy groups, asked the U.S. Supreme Court today to hear their case against Monsanto Company challenging the chemical and biotech seed giant’s patents on genetically engineered seed.

Gerritsen shares what this precedent-setting case could mean, how it would affect farmers and our global food supply, and the importance of getting the case heard by the Supreme Court.

  1. Not only should Farmers and Seed sellers have the right to NOT be sued, they should have the right to sue for having the GMO products contaminate their products. Monsanto should be responsible for containment of their altered foods and poisons.

  2. Reno, it is very expensive to transcribe our shows and Food Integrity Now does not have the funds yet to do this. Hopefully, in the future this will be something we can accomplish.

  3. Outstanding interview Carol, on a very critical subject!! Jim is very articulate and well spoken and I wholeheartedly support he and his fellow Organic Farmers in this lawsuit against Monsanto. It’s like David vs Goliath, but Jim and the OSGATA Have the power of Universal Truth on their side. Thank you for keeping us informed on this critical case that the future of these Family Farmers and the Heath of our World depend upon.
